SERENITY LAVISH Serenity Lavish- An  apartment  building located in Science city area in  Ahmedabad – Gujarat , is a 3BHK  apartment , approximately 2300 sq.ft. I was approached by the clients, a sweet family of 4, to design a home that speaks to them. The concept of the house was simplicity. The clients wanted to make Serenity Lavish – a modern home yet timeless in its nature, a home that has warmth but yet feels airy and light and not too filled up and cramped. The brief was to have one  bedroom  turned into a home office for the couple, have one master  bedroom  and a twin  bedroom  for their two young daughters. The  living room  is the first space you see when you enter the house. The space has a very modern feel to it, but with a few interesting design elements that feel very timeless and draw inspiration from our traditional Indian design elements.  A MINIMALIST HOME WITH WARM EARTHY TONES AND EXQUISITE USE OF WOOD AND VEENER    Less is more may sound like a cliché, but with the minimalist design trend that’s the essence. The design approach was keeping in mind Minimalism. It aims for simplicity and objectivity. The Best Elements of Minimalistic Design used are limited color palate, white spaces, flat textures and patterns. Patterns were used extensively with fluted panels, textured white veneer and metallic textured oak veneer and mirror. This beautiful spacious and airy 900 sq. ft, 2  bedroom   apartment  is nestled amidst the heart of Wadala offering 180-degree panoramic city views. The  apartment  design is inspired keeping in mind the client’s taste for having a minimalist home with warm earthy tones and exquisite use of wood and veneer throughout the house.                                                                        DESERT IN BLOOM “Desert in Bloom” echoes a minimal aesthetic with a few stand out moments with pastel colours and natural light. Linear Directional Flooring flows throughout the common areas.  The patterns on the floor feels like strokes of brush on a grey canvas. It has a distinguished character of its own. The densely patterned circular carpet from D’Decor breaks the linearity of the floor with its shape and style. Contrasting pair of coffee tables are customized in mango wood that sits on the circular carpet. Bigger one is bleached and the smaller one is black matt PU polished. A 4-seater sofa fabricated in powder coated mild steel in tones of grey is made to look floating with its sleek legs. Sofa color and living room  walls are of the same color which makes the  living  feel spacious.                                                                       BEYOND DESIGNS  The 8000 square-feet bright-Luke space showcases a series of carefully curated vignettes, all meant to mimic elegant living settings. Space has an individual flavour which is an amalgamation of international elegance and contemporary sophistication. The alluring ambience of the new space has been created with much sensitivity, professionally lit and artfully accessorized. The mood of the collection appeals to the tactile senses of assumed clientele. A customer can experience better furniture in a truly comprehensive setting. The Store is a unique walk-through concept showcasing a formal living room, dining room, bar lounge, bedroom, and bathrooms along with an exclusive area dedicated to accessory shopping and a beautiful 52 seater cafe with a private dining area.                                                                       THE PALMS Spread across 10,000 sq, ft, the two storeyed home stands poised, quietly tucked away in the dense greenery of the mountainous range. The overarching theme of the house is sustainability, where indigenous materials and local craftsmanship have been celebrated throughout the house. The overall theme of the house is contemporary, we have further aestheticized it through the contrasting interplay of minimalism and maximalism. The aesthetic dichotomy is achieved by using a minimal neutral palette and dramatic styling of oversized mirrors, sculptures, and art. Overall, the home is apleasing medley of dramatic accents, vintage elements, artisanal pieces and theatrical lighting, making it all seem like they have come together organucally over the years.

                                                                    Mc CLEAN DESIGN An L-shaped infinity pool hugs the contours of the hillside site of this home on Robin Drive. McClean devised the home as a glass pavilion that would open to the pool on one side and an entry water garden on the other. The house is currently on the market for $52 million.    This home in the Bird Streets neighborhood, completed in 2014, features a striking entry bridge that passes over a water courtyard below. McClean recently remodeled the home for current owner Calvin Klein.  Every room on the main level of this home in Bel Air has access to a terrace and an exceptional view.                                                       WHEN DESIGN MEETS ENGINEERING                                                                        LUXURY NEST The design of this home introduces a revolutionary outward-looking approach to the city’s architectural tradition. This home represents the tradition of the terrace, with its emphasis on an outdoor orientation, but in a context and climatic condition vastly different from the origin of the type. Glazing systems have advanced to a point where they can effectively provide insulation in the Russian winter extremes, which solved the climate challenge. The real challenge was to mediate a dialogue between the two traditions to resolve the new approach harmoniously in the Russian context. The design addresses the urban architectural character of the capital city and the pocket of natural pine forest on the island, something of a rarity this close to the historic center.                                                                   THE MAGNOLIAS CONTEMPORARY STYLE  Spread across 10,000 sq, ft, the two storeyed home stands poised, quietly tucked away in the dense greenery of the mountain range. The overarching theme of the home is sustainability, where indigenous materials and local craftsmanship have been celebrated through the house. To shelter against intense sunlight and tropical storms, generous ten-foot roof overhangs, and sliding screens offer an effective and elegant response to protect from the harsh coastal environment. Draped from the roof are two copper mesh rain screens that direct rainwater runoff.  The street side of the dwelling appears modest in scale, a single-story structure defined by a board-formed concrete wall that wraps around the courtyard. Behind the solidity of the front facade, a full two-story program is revealed, lightly constructed of glass and steel, opening the living spaces and bedrooms to a vast seascape.
